A Very Open Prison background

A Very Open Prison

The Home Secretary has his eye on the Prime Minister's job. But an experiment in the way the prisons are run leads to embarrassment - and escaped murderers!

In this riotous comedy, David Hanratty is a Home Secretary with ambition. With an embattled Prime Minister in crisis he plots to take over the top job himself. But he little imagines when he pays a visit one day to one of the modern Open prisons how quickly his plans will unravel when, whilst there, three prisoners - all murderers - manage to escape and go on the run. And the longer the trio are loose, the worse it is for his career with the Government facing a key vote on a vote of no confidence in the Commons - especially when the escaped convicts then barricade themselves in an orphanage.
