Romantic comedy, set in the aftermath of World War II. Major Gilbert is discharged from the army and returns home to his wife. He feels exhausted, and consequently has little interaction with her before going to bed. The Major has brought with him Jackson, his batman from the army. He has decided to hire Jackson as his new butler. Carol Gilbert, the Major's wife, has a crush on Jackson. At night, she has a romantic dream about Jackson. She wakes the next morning convinced that the dream was true, and does not understand why Jackson does not treat her as a loved one.
