Paisa Ya Pyar

A wealthy and snobbish woman's life undergoes changes when her daughter marries a commoner.

Bombay-based Lakshmi is the Chair of the Women's Syndicate as well as an aspiring politician, and lives a wealthy lifestyle along with her husband, Mohanlal; a pampered daughter, Shanti; and unemployed slacker son, Deepak. Mohanlal runs the 'Lakshmi Match Factory' and was born in a middle-classed background. Lakshmi hopes to get Shanti and Deepak married to a Rajkumar and Rajkumari respectively - but her hopes begin to fade when Shanti decides to marry an unemployed painting artist, Shekhar, the son of their factory watchman, Shankarlal. She then arranges Deepak's wedding with Dhanwati, the only child of a wealthy Singapore couple - little knowing the shock that await her when she will find out the background of her daughter-in-law.
